Uchi

Went back to Uchi for dinner.
Not much words, just name the dishes and what it is.
Got a glass of Moscato to start.
This is Sake (salmon) kiwi - it's golden kiwi which is a mix, and they're nice and sweet.
Social Pork, the pork is cooked with the egg jam sauce and topped with crispy rice.  It's actually one of my new favorite.
My must have: eggplant nigiri, not sure why it's so good, but eggplant has never been grilled so good.
Wall Tempura - like the sauce, can skip the fries.
Brussel Sprouts - YUM!
Geoduck Credo - I have no problem with geoduck, grew up eating that.  Have no problem with crude, but some how these two came together wasn't what I was hoping for.  It came with Korean melon and apple chunks, but that still doesn't do it for me.
Tako - octopus, topped with uni (sea urchin), with spring onion and yuzu sauce.
This is Gyumaki, which is grilled short rib in the middle, with kimchi and thai basil.  It's not too spicy, just give the meat a bit of taste.
Raspberry Blossom - which has sprinkling wine, cocchi rosa, rose water.  Very light and perfect for a hot day.
Ushio - fried ox tail with pickled onion and mint, I just really like dipping into that sauce.  Not too fried, but just enough to be crispy.
Macha Cure, which is our must get every time!  It's well done, it's good and it's a solid dish.  It is smoked yellowtail, yuca chips, and almond and pear chunks.  You are supposed to load all those little bits onto the yuca chip and eat it all in one bite.  This is something I definitely get every time I come back.
Foie Gras Candy Bar - this is something unique, foie gras with truffle caramel, hazelnut, with sesame on top.  The nut gives it the crunch, it's sweet yet not heavy.  This is not something I would get all the time, but it's definitely worth the try.
For dessert, we decided to order their specials and split.  This is Roasted Peach.  It has lemon cake at the bottom, with some crunchy granola bits, roasted peach with skin on it, and the ice cream is a sweet tea cream.  It's pretty, the flavor is too light for my taste.  I didn't need too much sugar, but also would've liked to have a bit of a strong note.
Here's the Vietnamese Coffee, you don't really taste too much coffee here, but it's nice and light with dark chocolate and mint and condensed milk drizzled on.  The cake itself is nice and flavorful, not too heavy on the sugar again but at least there's more flavors here than the Roasted Peach.

Not pictured here, is the Hamachi Nabe, which is the hot pot rice with yellowtail, soy sauce, the rice is purposely overcooked to crispy, and egg yolk.  You get a little show, where they pour in the sauce and mix it all together and 'cook' it some more because the pot is so hot.  It came out very well, another solid dish that is a must get here.

Again, service here are top notch.  We do our order and our server can recommend alcohol for pairing.  The only thing was that he forgot one of our dishes.  Otherwise, everyone and all the parts from the host's station, to the bar, to the table, all work together seamlessly.  Don't forget to make a reservation.
