Takoyaki - Osaka

One of the famous Osaka landmark...
... the Gilco runner sign.  Glico running man was originally a neon sign to promote products, but now this is an icon one that everyone post under.  And the product in case you're curious, was for a caramel.

I know when I'm here in Osaka, I MUST get Takoyaki - the octopus ball.  Not physical part of the octopus, but the shape of the food it comes in.

They have several offerings: Soy Sauce, Green Onions, and Akashiyaki - which is egg batter dumpling-like shape, as opposed to wheat flour based.  It also have octopus as ingredient, but apparently you eat the akashiyaki with dashi broth.

Osaka style is know to be fluffier, gooey-er.  The sauces and fillings have different variations too.  I wounded up getting half and half.

Half soy sauce and half green onion.  I'm going to admit it once and for all: I was surprised that I like the green onion way more than the regular ones.  It added the umph to the texture with the sauce.
