Burger Joint

This is my first time using Lunch Drop.  They are a lunch delivery service that coordinates with various restaurants in the area, and usually offer 4 places per day.  You have to order before 10:30am so they can deliver by 11:30-1:00p.
One of the places that looked good to me was Burger Joint, so I ordered that.

Since this is Desktop Dining, food suffered some from the delivery.  I got the Grilled Mahi Mahi Sandwich, since it was Friday for Lent.  Just to 'treat' myself, I ordered cheese fries.  So the Mahi Mahi sandwich is as good as I'd imagined, the key is the green sauce right there.   It's the creamy avocado, and I used it like butter, and it truly adds to the sandwich.

The cheese fries however did not fare well during travel.  Forgot that fries needs to be crispy and will get soggy over time.  So dipping the cheese or not, it wasn't going to make it.  Next time will have to try in person.

Tommy's

Was working out of Clear Lake and been getting lots of recommendations to go back to Tommy's.
Heard alot of great things about their Oysters and their Happy Hour, really need to plan it better to go there for that.
Instead, I got lunch.  This is the Jambalaya Pasta.  It has andouille sausage, chicken, bell pepper, onion, bit of creamy tomato sauce but not too much.  The pasta was definitely filling with the chicken and the sausage.  It was very hearty, I can see me eating this when it is cold out.  Even if it's 100 degree out, this is pretty suitable, I just can't finish it.

Great Wraps

Another Desktop Cafe series.... in case you don't know what that means, is food eating at my desk at work.  Meaning, no time to have a proper meal.
Since my office is by a food court, it was easy to run down, but eventually, we all get tired of mall food.  That said, it's better than no options at all.  I always forgot about Great Wraps.  They do have decent healthy options.

Ok, not healthy all the way, but a Greek Bowl is a little bit of both healthy and not together.  Little joys in life, right?  It has a bed of lettuce, cucumber and tomato salad, topped with gyro meat, feta cheese and what they called Z-sauce, which is a bit of tzatziki sauce but with their spin.  If you ask me what it is, I can't tell you.  I did tell the guy who's making the bowl to go easy on it.  Oh, and I got a side of fries just for kicks.

Anyway, Greek Bowl with lettuce meal is about 550 calories, since I'm keeping track, it's easy to do, plus it taste good.  I'm quite alright with that.  If you're not sure, they're always offering taste test.  See which you like before buying.

Cheesecake Factory - Desktop Cafe

We had a late work night so we ordered in...
... Since I had a large lunch, I went for a flatbread, which turn out to be bigger than I though.  This is the Skinnylicious Roasted Pear and Blue Cheese Flatbread.  I like it that the blue cheese is not over empowering and I love the arugula and cartelized onions and pecans.  The whole thing is true to the Skinnylicious brand, you don't feel too much but just enough to tie you over.  No protein on this but for a small bite, it's just right.

Ragin' Cajun

Today's Desktop Cafe is Ragin' Cajun'
I don't work out of downtown much anymore after being in downtown for 15 years.  So, when I do work out of there, there's a sense of excitement because of the tunnels and a sense of confusion, because all the stuff I used to know that are located in the tunnels have either changed over, renovated, moved or gone.  So, it was nice to see Ragin' Cajun' still in their spot.
Got the chicken and sausage jambalaya  looked good.  It's all mushed into a small container, but don't let that fool you.  It's pack with punch on spice.  I had to have my water with me at all times.  Ok, I'm also a weakling, but still.

Their service is super quick in the tunnels.  I haven't had Treebeards for a while, wonder how that fair in comparison.

Tommy's Clear Lake

Had another desktop lunch at Tommy's Clear Lake.
Got the Crab Stuffed Mushroom.  Sounded great, but it's very hot on the mushroom caps... Keep that in mind.  Burnt my tongue.
I got the Baked Potato Soup.  Forgot to tell them to skim the sour cream, the soup was thick but not as thick as I like them to be.  They do have good, legit chunks of bacon.  By the time I finished that and the mushrooms, I felt like I ate a lot of calories and needed to be wheeled out.  Sad thing was that it was not as filling as I was hoping for.  Should've gotten a salad.

Tommy's

Right by my office building, they have a nice restaurant.  Thought I'd give it a try.
Grab a quick bite... got it thru the bar.
Here's the crawfish enchiladas, they love the corn, as you can see, a third of the plate is corn.  The enchilada has decent meat in there, but you see tons of sour cream and cheese on it.  I'm not a big fan of sour cream, so I ended up scraping alot of it off.  There were tons of cheese and luckily they have enough amount of crawfish meat to balance it off.  Little to say, I had the broccoli in attempt to make the entire meal more balance.  The other stuff looks more promising, maybe they'll be better.

Kona Grill - desktop cafe

The luxury of working inside the mall is that besides Food Court, there are decent restaurants in there for some variety.  For a quick lunch, I ordered sushi to-go.
Kona, like 51Fifteen, also offer Mall Associate lunch.  The price is about $10-13, basically is a few of their main dishes or salads at a discount.
I had ordered the dragon roll, which was eel crab with the eel sauce (in containers) with crispy tempura bits on top.  The other is the caterpillar roll which has eel, avocado, cucumber and eel sauce (in container).

I like the staff there, which if you order to-go you'll be dealing with the host and hostesses.  They're super friendly, very fast.  I would say, I feel like I had better service this experience than the previous sit-down experience here at Kona.

La Madeleine - Desktop diner

For breakfast, the only things open early in the food court in the mall is Mickey D's, Sonic, Chik-fil-a, or La Madeleine.
The only thing is that this la Madeleine is opened at 8am.
I got the country breakfast, which has bacon, eggs, potato galette, and croissant.  You can call in ahead and pick up.  As I said, it opens at 8am, so you can call in then.  What I love about this is that you know it's fresh, it's made all right on the spot, plus anything early, you know it's not leftovers.  Did you know if you eat there, they have Wi-Fi?  That's what I call a Win-win.

Desktop lunch - Cheesecake Factory

The nice thing about working in the Galleria is that you can get good food easily.  You don't have to go to the food court, and still get something decent for lunch.
Like you can spoil on that easy!  Of course the good thing about going to Cheesecake Factory is that their menu is so big that it will take you days to get tired of what they have.
I had the Skinnylicious Pear and Endive salad with chicken.  I will say that the combo of endive, pear, feta cheese and chicken together, dipped with the dressing is pretty darn good.  But they don't have enough pear or feta cheese.  Plenty of chicken though... So, if you want to get your money's worth on the protein, you do get it.  This is a huge salad, I didn't even get to finish it, there's so much of it.
