Pudgy's Fine Cookies

Typically when I pick up my order from Underground Creamery it's at a window at Pudgy's.
Finally decided to walk in and see for myself.

You see it in the background, they got alot of cookies to choose from.

This is the Banana Bonanza, their description is a cross between banana foster and creme brûlée. It's definitely doughy, and it is creme filled.  My favorite part is the burnt banana on top and the outer part is sticky and crispy, the inside is creamy.  Definitely never had cookies like that before.

Definitely see that they are comparable with Crumbl. But the inside of the cookie is definitely different.  I like that these is like a mini dessert, definitely thicc, but also fill with decent filling instead of all cookie inside.  Definitely worth trying.

Blood Bros BBQ

Was dying for some Mac & Cheese & Brisket Fried Rice...
...came back to Blood Bros. for some goodies.

Just grabbed a few quick dishes, plus by the time I got there alot of stuff were sold out already.  But I got my yummies.

Got my Burnt Ends - this is the Al Pastor Pork Belly Burnt Ends.  They have some sweet mustard sauce, and the put scallion and onion, so it's spicier than I remembered.

For sides: I got the Brisket Fried Rice, definitely fully of flavors.  And the Smoked Gouda Mac & Cheese, they definitely had jalapeño in there somewhere.  I can feel the kick but it's so good that I woof-ed down the container.

So the parking at Blood Bros is a bit tight and with the renovation of the outer building, the space seems even tighter.  But I promise, they're open for business (keep in mind they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays).  At any rate, the earlier you get there, the more options you have. The later you go, the more stuff get sold out.  None of the dessert I had wanted was there anymore, none of the sausage or turkey was available. But don't get me wrong, whatever I got as still good, next time will go earlier.

Rocambolesc Gelateria

Came to a fun place for dessert.
Located in Uptown, very bright color everywhere.

It is decorated like a Wonka place.

They have a few cakes and cookies.

But we came here for gelato.  You pay for the size and then you step over for the fixin's.

First is the drizzle and syrups on top.

Then it's candy or nuts for your picking.

Lastly, it's the fruit topping.  They meticulously place them on top and make it look like a catered dish.

We got a small cup of chocolate gelato.  It's definitely creamier and chocolatier than other gelato I've tasted.

I got a Tiramisu Shake, and boy let me tell you, it really taste like you having a tiramisu.

There are plenty of seating outside so when it's crowded inside, you can definitely grab a seat, take some selfies. There is a side swing that's kinda cute to take pictures by.

This is located in Uptown Park by Urbe.  There are parking everywhere but you have to watch if they're for valet or not.  So keep your eyes peeled.

d'Alba

I was looking for a place to brunch in the Garden Oaks/ Oaks Forest area (aka GOOF).
This place came recommended by 2 co-workers, worthy for a try.

It was kinda warm, so I chose to sit inside.  Was kinda curious, I saw the servers running around but no one sitting at the tables inside.

Nonetheless, I'm here for breakfast.

I got the Alba Breakfast Plate, 2 eggs (I got it sunny side up), bacon (nice and crispy), sautéed veggies, and a gluten free muffin.

Not going to lie, that's alot of food and I had to take some back with me.  But it worked out.   The quality is definitely farm to table style, and service is great.  This is a neighborhood spots and lots of families come here.

And this would be the reason why... there's a playground on the side and a bar right there.  When I came out after my meal, I realized all the families were sitting outside, despite the heat and humidity.  Yes there are fans, but for the convenient of watching the kids, that's where everyone was.  There are another big tables to accommodate families.  But there are plenty of seating on the side for families with fans, TV, and bar.  Truly a place to accommodate families.

Parking: there's a small lot by the house for parking.  If you happen to run out of luck, you can try the street, and across the way at an American Legion hall.  Bonus: they have a plane in their lot and you can take a picture there.

Common Bonds - Garden Oaks

Went back to Common Bond back in Garden Oaks.
Finally got a good pic at the drive thru.

Went back for my Croissant Egg, Bacon, and Cheese sandwich.  Got me a latte and had my breakfast.  This time there were a few more families there for breakfast.  So between the drive thru and sit-down service, it was a little longer than before.  But it worked out, because if you sit down to work on your stuff the food will arrive before you know it.

They now have 6 on-the-go locations all around town.  And all the food on the menu reflects that so you don't have to sit in line for too long.

Jeni's Ice Cream

This is my first time at the Jeni's in the Montrose area.
They took over the house and converted it as an ice cream shop.

Still have alot of flavors to offer.

Lots of fun decor and actually lots of seating, both inside and outside on the side of the house.

They even have Seltzer and other drinks too.

Love that they give the little waffle bite even for the kids scoop.  So waffle cup/cone or not, you'll still get some of their fresh waffle either way.

If you're familiar with the area, you know that parking is scarce.  Worry not! There are sufficient parking on the side of the building.  They effectively took over the little lot that had food trucks there in the past for the parking.  Keep in mind, there's an Ice Cream Loft (apartments) back there, so they have some reserved spots for renters. If now, around the corner from the cafe has spots on the street.

Underground Creamery

Went back to Underground Creamery
You have to have great luck and sometimes you can walk up to grab one of these.

I grabbed these, one for me and one for my friend.  I got the Thai Tea and you really taste the Tea.

Here's another one that I got... Biscoff Cobbler

It has biscoff crumble, berry puree.

By the time you take a bite with all 3, it really does taste like having a cobbler but cold in a bite.  It's worth $15 and hopping online and waiting in line.  They are so confident that they have the good quality, on their hands that they openly share their recipe for the base Vanilla ice cream and you ad whatever you want to make it your own.

Run, don't walk - follow them on Instagram, sign up for the notification.

Shake Shack

Always forgot that there's a Shake Shack inside the mall.
It is hidden but not hidden.  It is on the street level across the hallway from Cheesecake Factory.

I like how they branded the table.

I took the easy way out, grabbed the chicken bite and cheese fries.

It's crispy whole white meat all fried.  And Kringle fries with cheese on top.  Sometimes fries just hit the right spot.  The day we were there they didn't have gluten free buns, so we did lettuce wrap instead.

Sunday Press

Time to try out another cafe.
This time is Sunday Press.

They have a neat little space for merch.

But more importantly, let's talk food...

Great display of viennoserie, and they have Croissant Swirl - aka Cronut with different toppings.  Must try those next time.

It has a great amount of space.  They have a counter you order and walk your way down to see these beautiful display of yummy goodness.  Then you order your main dish and drinks.  Grab a number and grab a table.

They are relatively quick on the orders.

I grabbed a little bit of everything just for a well rounded breakfast.

I got a latte and Frittata Bites - they are tiny, so you might want to get something extra.

Lucky for me, I did!  I got the fruit tart - it has 4 fruits on top.  Not too hard not the tart shell, easy to eat with a cup of coffee.

They do have a drive thru, and for parking it's directly behind the building.  Should you be unlucky and got to a busy morning there, it leads you to the back of an adjacent shopping center.  And you can park there, obviously be courteous and respectful to the other businesses.

Awesome Bites

It's still hot out, so ice cream treat is a MUST!
Came by Awesome Bites for a quick treat.

This is their N'ice Cream - which is allergy friendly, truly plant based.  This gray blob is Earl Grey Lavender ice cream, added some sprinkles for some color.

It's always a fun place to go, if you have allergies this is a great place to start.  Also to support small businesses at Sawyer Yards.  Everything is hand made and price might be a surprise but they all are good quality.
