Went back to Tim Ho Wan but for dinner.
Dinner is less competitive than lunch time. Easier to get in as well.
I got the Honey Lemon Tea - which was overly sweet and not real tea.
Go lots of your dim sum dishes.
Got one of my favorite dish:
Steamed chicken and mushroom rice. That one is pretty flavorful, worth getting.
Steam Egg Cake - Malaysian style. It's nice and spongy.
Veggie steamed dumpling - truly all veggies.
Har Gow all shrimp.
Shu Mai - pork & shrimp dumpling with a date on top. I will say the shrimp is fresh at least.
Pan-fried noodles - which does not have much flavor to it.
What we realized is that the dinner service is just as busy as lunch's. With a big group it's even harder to find a server to tend to the group consistently. The food is slow wasn't because of the kitchen, they are consistently churning out dishes. It was trying to get the server to get our ticket and when we want to add, get their attention. Again, hands down their Pork Bun is great, the rest fares about the same with other eateries.
As far as dim sum goes, it's great to have the options for dinner. But back in Chinatown, there are better options, hate to say it but it's true.
