Tommy's Seafood

When I am in the Clear Lake area, I like to go to Tommy's
They have great deals on oysters on the shell.
My favorite dish here, Jamalaya Pasta.  They have andouille sausage, chicken, bell pepper, mushroom, pasta.  The sauce is so good, I just kept coming back for it.
It's rare that I pass by the Space Center, and it never ceases to amaze me that this vehicle that went into space is right here on land for us to view.

Mian Chinese

Kept walking pass Mian when I go to the Snowy Village.  Finally got a chance to stop in.
On their placemat they explain their famous mung bean soup.
Turns out it was super hot, guess this is a fresh batch.  But even though they said they have light sugar, it doesn't seem to have much taste to it.
Chili Oil dumpling, super spicy, no soup that comes with it.  Pork filling that is quite generous.  Too bad it's super spicy for me.
Here's the House Beef Noodle that can be made not spicy.  Which is very flavorful, the broth is well mixed.  Obviously with beef chunks, bok chop, Sun Noodles (aka egg noodles), and scallion.
Here's the Intestine Noodle dish.  It has pork intestines, bok chop, and noodles.  The soup is somewhat spicy even though we've asked the server to go easy on the spiciness of the dish, but came out to be quite spicy.  I barely had couple of bites and had to throw in the towel.

When we went, it was at the open.  They barely got stuff ready for us.  Food did come out very quickly, the mung bean soup was made fresh so took a bit.

Roastery

Went to Roastery for breakfast and coffee, of course.
Roastery has pretty much gone all cashless.
Not sure if you could see it.  But she's making my donut.  I do appreciate that my food are made to order.
So glad that they have Apple Cider Donuts year round.  That's one of my favorite.  I've tried other flavors, such as Mocha, Powdered Sugar, and Classic.  The Classic is not bad.  One order comes in 3, 6, or 12.  These things are mini donuts.  The lady had a boo boo one, she just threw it in there, which is much appreciated.

Bernie's Burger Bus

Lots to choose from and all delicious.
Here's the Kindergarteners...
Which is, 2 sliders with blue cheese, tipsy onion, and bacon on top of the little patty between artisan buns.
This!  This is a heart attack for me.  No, actually, this is Honor Roll Fries.  It has BBQ Brisket, cheddar, onion, scallion.  Every bite is so good.  Cannot stop eating.

The Blind Goat

Finally made it to Blind Goat inside Bravery Food Hall.
It is located towards the back of the food hall.
Haven't seen one of these for a long time, even though I haven't been drinking soda, just have to grab one.
Peanut Tofu dish: vermicelli at the bottom, fried tofu, toasted coconut, pickled vegetable, and egg roll on top.  It's a good vegetarian alternative.
This is the G.O.A.T. Curry.  Rice at the bottom, that actually has goat, potato, lemongrass, mustard green and egg roll.  This is a good gluten free alternative.
After you're done, check out the 'Secret Garden' out back of the building.  You can also grab a cup of coffee at the greenhouse and take a few pics for the gram.

Occasionally, you can run into Christine Ha, the winner of Masterchef and also owner for The Blind Goat.  She's there pretty regularly.  Don't be afraid to talk to her, she's pretty friendly.

Whiskey Cake

Went back to Whiskey Cake for a company dinner.
To start: I had my usual, Midori Sour.
Tumeric Hummus with pita and pickled vegetables.
Fried Green Tomato, one of my favorite from here.  Highly recommend!
Deviled Eggs, with feta and bacon... yum!!!
Farm Salad, mixed greens and tomato with balsamic vinaigrette.
Farm Bird, which is a half rotisserie chicken on top of Brussel sprouts, it has bacon mixed in it.  Yum, yum.
Last but not least: the restaurant's name sake, Whiskey Cake.  Chocolate torta with Bourbon anglaise with spiced pecan and house made vanilla whipped cream on top.   It is delight on top of delight.  You really do need to mix everything into one bite.

Aqua S

Went back to Aqua for some ice cream.
I love that they changes flavors every 15 days.
Follow them social media to see the flavors reveals.  They typically run 1st - 15th, then 16th -30/31st.
I got the Matcha, didn't add anything to it this round.

I just love the place has every nook and cranny that is fully grammable.  Totally adores.

Yokushi Robata

Went to Yokushi for a quick lunch.
Arrived when they were open, so everything is much more relaxed.
Got the squid skewers, delicious!
Scallop on the shell.  The left one was so tiny that they gave us two on one shell.  Flavor is ok on this one.
For the main dish, I ordered the Yokushi Don.  That is, marinated pork belly over rice with pickled veggie and sesame sprinkled about.  Let's face it, I'm a huge pork belly fan, you can put whatever along with it, I'll eat it.  Caveat that it has to taste good and not dry.  I would say 90% of the time, I've tasted some pretty well made ones and this is no exception.  Not dry at all, the fat to meat proportion is good.  I appreciate that they didn't throw in all the fatty ones in one dish.

As I mentioned earlier, if you come before peak meal time, you tend to get easier time for seating and better service and this is no exception.

Hu's Cooking

Who's Cooking?  Hu's Cooking!  Corny, I know.
Came on a Sunday before lunch rush.
Love the pretty sets.
Squid with Chili Pepper.  It does get spicy, but so dang good.
Then we got the Red Chili Oil Wonton - again as the name suggested, it's is spicy.  But it is meaty with pork and ginger.  Couldn't finish it all, but super delicious.

Key about going there, is that you go right before the meal time rush.  So, for lunch, you get before Noon, for dinner you get there by 5:30p.  That's the key.  For parking, be considerate about parking on the street, read the signs.  There are parking available in the front and back of the store, make sure you read the signs.

Morningside Thai

Took my Mom to Morningside Thai for her birthday dinner.
Since they moved away from Morningside (the street) the business doesn't seem as popular as they used to be.
Let's start with a Thai Iced Tea, I just love the flavor, though keep in mind, it is black tea, which means it's caffeinated.
Luckily, food as as good as usual.  Started with egg rolls.
Satay, one of our go-to appetizer in Thai Cuisine.  It really makes the satay taste better with the pickled cucumber and peanut sauce.  Do it all in one bite.
Last but not least, Chicken Pad Thai.  I liked that it's nicely cooked, and not too blend.

This is a Mom & Pop shop, if you could support please do.  Order for pick up and they're very efficient.  A lot of their businesses are that way, and we see a lot of people coming in for pick-ups.

Bae

Another temptation from my Instagram feed.
Been seeing a lot of posts from this please called Bae.  More importantly they have these awesome looking cones.  So, I have to check that out.
True to Instagram, they do have one particular wall that is notorious for the Gram. Actually, they have walls and table that is very suitable for the Gram too.
The table which is like crocodile patterned, it's pretty cool.  Anyway, what did I get, I only got Matcha soft serve with nuts.  That said, it is pretty creamy yet it's not super sweet, which is what I like.

For the Gram, they have people put like gold leaf, gold heart, teddy gram, gummy bear, Pocky sticks... etc.  In actuality, when you want a bit of dessert to top off after a meal, all that is just not feasible for the tummy.  So, I just stick with the basics.  If you want to see how creative people can get, go follow them on their Instagram account.

Yardhouse

Went to Yard House with some coworkers.
I haven't been there for a long long time.
Had a Blood Orange Austin East Ciders, pretty light and airy.
Starters: Truffle Fries... twist my arm.
Lobster, Crab, Artichoke Dip.  So addictive.
Awesome Onion rings.  So glad there were others to share this with me, I cannot stop myself.
Here's my entree:
It comes with a small side salad, I got Ceasar.
This is my lamb burger, sadly, it was cold by the time it got to me.  But I was still picking over the appetizers.
Dessert time: This is S'more Brownie dish, and it's crack!  What you can't see is that there's graham cracker at the bottom as the cake.  Then, you get the chocolate gooey goodness, and then roasted marshmallow on top.
Here's the Trio, which has peach cobbler, cheesecake brûlée, chocolate soufflé's cake.
Bread Pudding with Creme Anglaise

So, our server is as attentive as possible given she has so many tables.  She was also very patient in bringing us different sips of beers to try to find the right one.  I really appreciated them taking the time to help.  The food aren't bad, but was sad that my burger was not up to par.  The rest are good and given the price and atmosphere, is exactly what you'd expect from a higher end bar to do.

Do take the time to get there a tad early, especially if it's a game night.  The volume is loud, but you can still talk.  Do ask the staff, they are always happy to help.
