Moge Tee

Found another Moge Tee.
This one is in the Medical Center.  I was at the doctor in the Med Center and walked by.

Again, this one also has a kiosk for ordering.  But if you have cash, they do have a cashier station that takes cash.

Place is tiny but has a few seats while you wait for your order.

I got the Mango Tea Slush, that was pretty good, definitely will get it again.  Tons of mango flavor, you can tell they used the real thing not artificial.  For a hot day, that was super refreshing!

Lady M Cake Boutique

As they say, curiosity kills the cat.  If it's about food, then it'll kill a fat cat.
I heard Lady M moved to a permanent store front, had to go check it out.

It's super snazzy and fancy in there.  It is located across from the Apple Store.

All the lovely cakes are on displayed.

I had asked for Matcha ones, but they ran out of individual slices, so guess how nice was the staff?!

He went and cut one up for me right there and then.  So nicely done and all came out beautiful.

End results?  I got 4 slices

From top to bottom: Matcha, Pistachio, Lavender, and Guava (brand new)

I like their cream is very full in flavor, you don't feel like it's skimpy or last taste.

This is the Guava one, their newest flavor.  I like how they have cream at the bottom, layer of the guava jam in the middle, so every bite you get some fruit flavor.

So you can order the cakes, whole or slices online, and then go pickup via their site.  Or you can obviously go there and see them for yourself.  Where to park: to be honest, the best time to go is during weekday. I used to work inside the mall that would've been convenient.  But now that I don't, I would wait till after 5p on weekday and go up the ramp by Saks, and there's some bank parking.  The bank close at 5p, so just pay attention.  You go into the mall, and elevator, get to 2nd floor.  As you exit, look around, you can see it from the elevators.  They are facing the Apple Store, which you cannot miss.  I parked there, zipped in and out with no issue.

Snooze

Where does one go when one want to treat oneself to breakfast?
Go to Snooze, of course!

Get hydrated is priority!

My favorite item to get there: pancake flight!

My always go-to: Blueberry Danish pancake - it's like eating a cake cake.  Buttermilk based with blueberry puree, sweet cream, and strudel and lemony cream cheese drizzled on top.

Then, the other is Pineapple Upside Down pancake, taste just as yummy.  Also buttermilk based, with pineapple chunks, vanilla cream, powdered sugar and cinnamon butter to spread.

The 3rd one, I usually get the sweet potato, but they are running limited edition each week, and that week was Earl Grey with lemon and almond and cream on top.  I actually finished that who thing.  The Pancake of the week is created by employees of various store and if it past the mustard (so to speak) they get into the pancake of the week rotation.  And if they are good enough, they get put on the menu.  Pretty coo.

Un Caffe

Been seeing Un Caffe all over social.  Friends suggested going there, not realizing that's 'the' place.
It's on Milan, so you have to be careful, since it's a one-way street.

The place is pretty simple, but has items you don't usually find around town.

This is Midnight Mocha

It's kinda interested, there's ice underneath that layer of foam and chocolate and shading.  Luckily, it wasn't too sweet, as far as mocha goes, this is pretty chocolatey more than coffee.

Even though the location is in Midtown, it does get pretty busy on a weekend day.  There are places to sit, but the seatings are scarce, so bring patience, or take it to go.  The staff are pretty friendly and if you ask them what they'd recommend, they're gladly show off their menu.

In terms of parking, there are a few spots in front, you can try your luck.  Obviously you can search for street parking, but you can try for the garage across, but not much there since all the businesses there are pretty busy too.  Just be sure to check the signs.

Chocolate Bar

Driven past here and saw the Chocolate sign and caught my attention.
It was at the former wine space in river Oaks.

They have lots of fancy chocolate for sale, mix bags, cow shaped, cowboy shaped, boots...

pretzel sticks, dipped oreos, and dipped crackers...

Other animal shaped too.

They have cakes...

... and cakes...

...and gelato.  They have coffee too, but I was short on time.

Got a slice of chocolate tres leche.  I will say that for someone with a super sweet tooth, this is too sweet for even me.  I usually have pretty high tolerance on these things.  The texture was moist but not like a tres leche' where it is soft and milky.  It's just got too rich everywhere, had to give up halfway.

Otherwise, I wouldn't mind coming back for a coffee another day.  The turtle mocha looked promising.

Bao Shi Yi

Had a bit of craving for wonton and stopped by Bao Shi Yi
Back to the Kirby Location.

Cute and kitchy stand.

Yet mixed with modern designs.

What did I get: I got the grapefruit tea, which they've raised the price to $7.20, that's a bit much.  My usual is about $5-6 range, this is definitely out of range.  In the past you get bits of the real fruit, but as you can see, I didn't even get some slices.  So that's a bit much. p.s. there are difference on pricing between location, just a heads up.

I got the Wonton with Bone Broth.  I actually really wanted the broth, just because they have more ingredients in there than normal broth.   Had to skip the wontons - so sad, since I can't chew.  But the broth had veggies, mushroom, and obviously the texture from the broth.  Pretty flavorful and for a sicky like me, it's worth the trip.  Maybe not the drink next time.

What I do is that I order online for pickup on my way there.  By the time I arrive, the order would be put together and ready to go.  If I had to wait, it's just a few mins.  Definitely worth doing.

Graffiti Raw

Had a girls night out and went to Graffiti Raw
The reservation was pretty particular, like dress code, for larger parties like ours they allowed 120 mins and that's it.  That's alot of pressure when there's a group of you and you want to catch up with friends.  It kinda felt weird since it's a weekday and there's still lots of provisions.

Per our server recommendation, we got the charred grilled octopus. It came with a half of a potato steamed, chorizo, chimichurri sauce, with a generous dab of creme' fraiche.

They cut it all up for us, and mushed everything together, easy to scoop.  It is actually pretty delicious.  Definitely will come back and get this again.

This is the Miso Ceasar salad, since I can't chew, I opted out on that one, but looked good.

This is the Red Snapper Crudo, which is pretty delicious, even though I'm not usually a crudo person.  I enjoyed it.

Roasted Oyster - one of my fav here, still not as good as the ones at Caracol but not bad.

Was eying the Uni Pasta.  At least I can say unlike Moneycat, the pasta is al dente and the sauce is delicious.  There is some kind of chili in there, so you don't taste it while eating, but as it goes down, I felt it.  Alright, let's talk uni: sushi lovers knows uni shall never be slimy or slippery.  It is supposed to be buttery and melt in your mouth, but not fishy or gamey.  I would say, this uni is about to go bad because it started to look slimy and the taste is gamey.  Hope that was a fluke, but definitely tasted more of the ocean than usual in terms of uni.  To date, Chef Billy's Uni Pasta still the top for me.

For dessert, we got: Tres Leche - nice a moist and not too milky but definitely creamy.

This is their Beet Cake - it's kinda like a carrot cake without carrot.  Has enough spice, but also too dry.  Going back to the Tres Leche.

If you want to come here couple things to note.  1, definitely make a reservation and pay attention to their provisions.  We did go over the allotted 120 mins but a tad, no one kicked us out.  But they do come by and check you a bit more frequent.  The place is small, and though they have seating outside, let's face it, even after sun down it's still too hot.  2, parking: if you're smart and lucky, park on the street.  You can valet at Uchi's and walk around the corner.  They do validate, you need to scan the code at the hostess station.  Otherwise, you can do the garage at the Montrose Collective across the way.  You can self park there, but they do not validate.  That is an underground parking, and it's best to walk in numbers because there's no too many foot traffic there.

Bazille

It's been some years since I've been to Bazille.
It is on the top floor of Nordstrom.  It's tucked away, but worth going for a business lunch.  Got me a fancy lemon soda.

When you can't chew, your selection is supremely limited.  I went to the Signature Housemade Soup.  It's kinda like a chicken noodle but with bits of noodles and shredded chicken.  I appreciated the bread but since I can't really chew, as good as it was, I was only able to partake a little before I ache.

At any rate, back to the soup.  It's nice texture to the soup base, not just a plain broth (think chicken noodle soup), there's more protein than I usually get, which is appreciated.  The soup that has a bit of kick for flavor but not over empowering.

Service is like any mid-range price type service.  Even though it's hidden, they do get busy during peak hours.  So if you're in the middle of shopping and needed a break, stop by and grab a meal.

Roastery - French Cafe

Saw this Coffee on-the-go at H-Mart, and peeked my curiosity. I posted about them before, but this is different flavors, so thought I'd highlight a bit here.
This is a Mont Blanc flavor, which is chestnut and milk cream.

I also got an espresso one, but truly it's just coffee and milk, so it's truly more like an au wait.

I just love these little cups, so easy to grab and go.  I love that they have all sorts of flavor that you can try.

Starbucks Instant Coffee

I got an order of Starbucks Instant Coffee from Japan.
It came in this very nice tin box.

In it has 12 packs, 2 for mocha and green tea, but 3 for caramel latte and green tea latte.

You add hot water & stir.  So I will say, flavor is there, but my biggest complaint is that for an instant drink it's not melting as well as it should've.  I also have milk red tea instant mix that once it interacts with water, it melts quickly and better with stir.  This puppy, I tried to stir, the powder clumps into powder-ball quickly.  So you really should pour hot water and stir at the same time.   The taste is there, but the mixing part can be a challenge.

Coco

Went to Coco's for some gelato.
Parking can always be deceiving, because the complex house multiple businesses, it looks busy.  But don't forget to check the parking against the wall, which is reserved for Coco's patrons.
I got an affogato.  That's just a fancy way of saying ice cream with your espresso.  The name technically means it drowns in the coffee, but whatever, it's nice a creamy.  I had the hazelnut one, and the espresso poured over it.

I like to mush the ice cream in there, and mix it well.  Then drink.  The gelato definitely give it a thicker texture than say an espresso, but you have to kinda do it quick because the temp drops quickly on the espresso.  It's a fun little exercise to do.

Obviously sitting down and enjoying it is also part of life.
