Liberty Kitchen

Came back to Liberty Kitchen for lunch.
Lunch is easy to grab a table even without reservation.

Since it's only lunch, we didn't go all out but still managed to order alot.

We ordered a plate of truffle fries to share.

The seafood pasta is definitely not lunch portion.  There's 9 mussels and 3 scallops, which all together is already rich. And add pasta to it, it's loads of food.  I will say, I really liked the sauce, and it was very flavorful and bring all the pieces together beautifully.  But this is probably a better selection as a dinner dish than lunch, couldn't even finish it.

Love the decor, had to take a pic.

Rice Village Farmers Market

Every 1st & 3rd Sunday, there's a Farmers Market at Rice Village.
I was enticed by the Farmers Market's IG and came over to Don Jorge's Chamoy.  Truthfully, they are really selling the Chamoy sauce, which is a popular Mexican cuisine uses.  They have homemade chips fried with olive oil and use it to dip in Chamoy.  It's a bit spicy, a bit sour, a bit salty, go well with chips, nuts, or use it to marinate.

This empanada and the paella are both from Avila.  The empanada is really better warm.  My only complaint is that the outer layer on the empanada was too thick, made it hard to bite or cut through.  The fillings inside was great, I loved anything with chimichurri sauce.

They also were selling paella, and if there's a chance, I usually gravitate towards it.  Mainly because I wouldn't make it myself.  And at restaurants they usually have a minimum of 2 people for that order, so it's not easy to get.  This one however, I got the seafood paella, and look at what big pieces of seafood they topped it off with!  There were no less than 3 large shrimps, couple mussels, and calamari.  That's not a big bowl, so to have so much it's pretty impressive.

Farmers Market has a lot of different stalls, from imperfect vegetables to small farm's fresh vegetables.  Sauces for pasta, chips, keto, Asian dishes all there.  There are stuff for coffee, hot coffee, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  So it's always fun to come and visit.

Love Croissants

Been meaning to go to midtown to visit Love Croissants.
Lucky for me, they were at the farmers market.  And they brought some nice selections.

I got the Raisins bread (looks like a pinwheel).  It is nice and flaky. Then 2 baby croissants, one is toasted almond, the other is turkey and goat cheese.  That one was nice and cheesy.  At home I warmed it up for 15 seconds and it's nice and warm to your belly.

Thank goodness they're still doing farmers market.  We do know that they often sell out at the store.   And I don't go to the area enough to make an excuse to stop by.  So this is nice and convenient.  But since you're in the area, stop by.

Azuma Sushi & Robata Bar

Haven't been to Azuma for a very very long time.

Easy in to grab lunch.

Starts with my favorite agedashi tofu - just haven't had it in a long time.

I got the Pink Lady Roll - it has hamachi, tuna, salmon, king crab, topped with unagi sauce, avocado, and fried onion bits.  It's pretty good.

To top it off, I ordered chopped scallop just for good measure.

It was easy to grab a table. It works for a quick lunch on the weekend.

La Plume

Drove by this shop and saw this cafe.
Someone had introduce me before, but I thought it was just a bakery.

But they have a full cafe.

I ordered a Sesame Latte, never had that before, so thought I'd give it a try.

So pretty that it's unfortunate I have to stir it all up.

Got a slice of the Millefeuille Crepe cake, in coffee flavor.  I love it that it's not overly coffee, not overly cream.  It strikes the perfect in all fronts.  And you all know I have such a sweet tooth.

The cafe is actually pretty tiny and cute. They seems to have cakes galore, but also croissants and macarons too.  Definitely creating a very Parisian feel.  I can picture on a pretty day, grab a newspaper and grab a croissant and a latte and sit there and bask in the sun.

Morfi Argentino

Friend introduced me to More Argentino.
There was a soccer match and you can tell who's here for the food and who's here for the match.  But no matter, there are 4-5 giant screens overhead, you will catch the game from one corner or another.

Casual Argentinian always seem to have empanada on the easy.

We split the Ham and Cheese (L) and Spicy Beef (R).  It comes with Chimichurri sauce and I love that sauce.  The fillings are nice and the skins are crispy.

Then we split a pizza with Chorizo on top of mozzarella cheese and we did have some Chimichurri sauce.  It's one of the cheesiest pizza I've ever had.  It was not super rich, but definitely have my fill of cheese.  Hmm cheese!

You walk in, they have a bar area.  But grab a seat and they'll bring the menu to you. Again, lots of TV to catch your game, so it'll good place for any soccer match.

Oreo Thins - Matcha figs

Here's another random find at the Asian Grocery store.
This time is Oreo with Matcha and fig filling on Thin.

Still enjoy the half pack that comes with the box.  Talk about portion control, this is a helpful way to do it.  You get what you want, but not like a whole slab of cookies where you work thru while you're bored.  It has a limit easily.

I definitely love the Oreo Thins, you can have that half and not feel bad.  The filing is definitely not anything we've had before.  It is matcha tea flavor, but it's not overly sweet.  I won't lie,  I really can't tell there's fig in there.  But it's a great quick snack.

I would say amongst the flavors, I'm still stuck on the double chocolate. But if there's more new flavors to try, I'm game.
