Piatto

Was at Piatto for a work dinner.
Gosh, haven't been here for at least several Constructions in the area ago... the food is good, just not easy to get to.
We started with some appetizers: bruschetta.  Tons of topping, basically a meal to itself.
Artichoke Dip, nice and creamy.  Definitely nice in the winter weather.
Asparagus Speciali, which is asparagus tempura style and then covered by lumps of crab meat.  The sauce is a lemon butter sauce, very delicious.
I got the special that evening, which was grilled salmon with veggies on top and 2 large shrimp with a  side of broccoli.  I'm guessing there's at least 5-6 oz of salmon.  The sauce is also nice and buttery.   I will say, that if you eaten the entire thing your tummy feels it.  Just ask me.

Overall, service is great even with a large group like ours.  At night, as expected, not as busy as other eateries in the area.  I like the place, the service, the atmosphere, and the food.  The only thing is getting there.  They are situated directly behind Dillard's parking garage, however the main traffic is from Galleria to 610.  There's a small merge ramp from the side road to the freeway, and it is hard to sit thru that, though it's small.

Anyway, if you have a chance, come and try them.  They do participate in Houston Restaurant Week.
