Yauatcha

Went to Yauatcha for dinner.
We didn't know how busy they would be, so went ahead and made a reservation anyway.
Got my favorite Grape Cha - it's a grape soda, not too sweet but pretty and nice.  Definitely refreshing for a hot day.
This is the Morel Mushroom dumpling.  It's mushroom and other veggies inside.  Very light, and yummy.
This is Veggie Paper roll, it has mushroom, carrots, zucchini, and another root in there.  It's rolled up and fried like a spring roll and you dip in hoisin sauce.  Not too heavy.
This is interesting, it is cuttlefish ball dumpling, wrapped in spinach, steamed.  It has a bit of black bean sauce for taste, not too salty.  Tons of carrots and red pepper for the steaming part of it.
This is one of my favorite, pumpkins dumpling.  Just because it's super cute.  It has roasted duck inside.  Not too dry, just right.  It is cute and tasted good.  Too cute.
This is the 3 mushroom pulled noodles.  It is pan fried and this was the only dish that is a tad saltier and oilier for my taste.  Otherwise, it's is not bad.
This is the scallop shu mai.  Caviar and scallop on top.  Then, fish mix in the middle.  Cooked like regular shu mai.
Another of my favorites: Cheung Fun with prawn and crispy beancurd.  I like that it's soft on the outside bur crispy in the middle.  The soy sauce at the bottom doesn't soak into the crispy because it's protected by the cheung fun (aka rice noodle), just delicious.
For dessert, we got the green tea yuzu tart.  I was really after the yuzu, which is a Japanese citrus.  It has green tea mousse, with yuzu curd in the middle.  And a tart base covered with green tea hazelnut ganache.  The ice cream is vanilla bean with a bit of green tea crumble.  There's also a bit of gold flake on top.  The server even said that many of times, customers thought that's a piece of foil, which makes us laugh.

Anyway, in the evening, it's not as busy as lunch time.  But it does slowly gets filled up.  Service is still good, it was strange that the front desk cannot get our reservation when they even had someone called that afternoon to confirm.  That didn't deter the experience, but it was just odd.  Otherwise, I do recommend making a reservation if you plan on going, just in case.
