Candytopia - NYC Pop up

Warning: this post is photo heavy.

Much like the Museum of Ice Cream, here's another wacky, yet perfect for photo op place to visit.
As soon as I heard that Candytopia was going to be New York, I was over the moon.
First, New York Taxi cab covered with yellow gumball paper - but that ain't nothing yet.
At first, they have to bring you to this very theatrical presentation to give you the rules and what nots.  But don't forget to check out the decor.  Yes, that fox is made out of candy corn, bless their hearts.
This deer head is made out of cola gummy, and you see every exhibit has a sign next to it to tell you how many of what candy comprise the sculpture.
Then, you walk thru a 'tunnel', and arrived to the heart of it...
Dragon made with many kinds of red toned candy to create the shade and what nots.
So very Wonka-esque, everything is made out of candy, but trust me, after so many people visited, you don't want to try to take a bite.  Sorry Augusta Goop!
Since this is a New York exhibit, it has lots of NY signature items, such as this portrait of Statue of Liberty made with jelly beans, licorice, some tic-tac looking candy and more.
Of course, they present a few classics through time, such as the Mona Lisa.  Who needs to go to the Louvre?!
The Scream by Munch - no time to go to Norway to see the Masterpiece?  Here you go!
Van Gogh's Starry Night - very nice detail, and very well done.
If it's not Wonka himself - the original, of course!  No offense to Johnny Depp.
What is Art in NY if they don't feature Warhol?!  Soup, anybody?
Marilyn Diptych in candy, because, why not?!
Pop Art homage is a must, too easy!
Now, more up to this decade - emoji's
One of my fav, made out of chiclets, DOPE!
On to other stuff: Statue of Liberty, for scale, that's about as tall as a human.
Now to the Under the Sea room: pull out all the Jelly Belly for this Seahorse.
Awesome sea star, again, just cola gummy takes more than 4 packs here, please little yellow mints to highlight the shimmer parts.
Baby Shark anybody?  I just love the shading is done so well, and yes, still all made out of candy (and shellac, we're told).
Awesome Stingray!
There are several rooms, perfect for Instagram.  Most notable, also last room is the Marshmallow Room.  Much like the Sprinkle Pool, the Marshmallow aren't real.  However, once you jump in, it's very hard to get out.  So, you've been warned.
This is just too cute...

There were a few more rooms I didn't show, since they were perfect for selfies, we just did selfies.  It was very thoughtful of them to have staff almost in every corner of every room, knowing that you will need help taking pictures or boomerangs.  On top of that, they have you sign up and assign you QR quotes, then you go to different stations for a specific photo.  They have staff's job is to sweep up the confetti and blow it at you.  It's great to grab your girlfriends and have a good time.

The New York showing is going thru November 15th.  They are currently also in San Francisco thru November 30th.  No more dates has been announced.   By the way, basically each room you visit, they do give you candy.  Some offer you one piece, some tells you to take several pieces, one gave us a full size pack.  It was so much candy coming home, talk about a sugar high.
