Here's another Instagrammable place in Chinatown - Tasty Point
Now, I know what you're thinking, it's over 90s outside, you're eating hot pot, yes, I know.
First, cool off with milk tea in ice. The ice is on the outside, so that you get more milk tea and the ice won't water it down. Tea is pretty packed with flavor too, not too milky.
This is the herbal hot pot, there are lamb, tofu (at least 2 kinds), Japanese fish cakes, shiitake mushroom, scallion, enoke mushroom, cabbage, meat ball, fish ball, and lotus roots. You can taste the medicinal flavors from the fixin's
This is the coconut cream curry pot, it has tofu at least 2 kinds, crab stick, corn, cabbage, fish balls 2 kinds, and vermicelli already at the bottom.
You definitely taste the coconut, but not too empowering. I would say I didn't taste too much of the curry, which is fine by me, since I'm a wimp when it comes to spicy, and most the menu looks to be that way - spicy.
Each pot comes with a side. You can choose between vermicelli that you have to cook, a small bowl of rice with braised pork on top (which looks and taste great), and a bowl of white rice.
I will say, we definitely had our eyes bigger than our stomach. Each of us ordered a pot, and the pot is really good for one and a half serving. So, definitely too much food for one person especially when you add a bowl of rice or vermicelli into the mix. We've decided that next time, we'll order one pot to share, and give us a chance to order the other appetizers or sides, which seems to be offering a wide arrange of food.
Service is definitely busy, the place is small, so it fills up quickly. The staff tries to turn the table as fast as they can, but sometimes it's beyond their control. So, I'd suggest either you go early before prime time, or go during non-rush/prime time for meal.
