Alice in Wonderland Pop-Up

There was a tea party at Muse Tea the other day hosted by Sphryn Marketing.
I'm a sucker for a good packaging and some good but rare yummy food.

True to Alice's story, the hostess was running 30 mins late.  If it's not because it's a small space and covid, I wouldn't mind waiting.  But it's hard when other people are also waiting for their cute boxes.

The packaging is very kitchy and they are all matchy matchy.

Color schemes worked out so well... and pretty.

Let's see what's in them... cute tags to match the theme.

These are actually Dasik, which are Korean tea cookies.  It's a tight little thing, pack a lot of punch in a small little thing.  There are Ginger (and by the way it felt as strong as eating wasabi cookie), Sesame (one of my favorite flavors) and Matcha (definitely taste the true matcha bitterness).  These cookies do look densely packed, but they melt in your mouth too.  So amazing.  This is made by SKM Pastries, and she is a pastry chef at Bloom & Bee.

These are some cute macaron and cakesicle by Street Treats.  The last time I had some cute ones was in LA.  Super cute vanilla macaron and playing cards chocolate cakesicles.  Super cute, too cute for me to take a bite and destroy them.

Ok, let's do this clockwise from the top.  The purple is Cheshire Biscone by Ube Co.  It is a scone texture, and I know there's purple potato (ube) in there, but all I can really tasted was bacon bits in there.

Then, there's mini burger.  If you recall, things in the Wonderland is all messed up.  This is just too cute.  While I know there's meat in there, the main flavor I got from this was the cheese, which was delicious.  Much like the gigantic Tamagoyaki sandwich.  That's the largest tamagoyaki I've seen in a long time.  Basically it's the Japanese style egg omelette in a rolled shape.  Both the Tamagoyaki & the Mini Burger came from the fine folks at Powered By Rice HTX who brings you concepts like Shun Kitchen & Hako Bento.

In the lower right corner are Osmanthus tea biscuits, it's one of the best out of the box.  It has a hint of tea and orange, but it's not a full on biscuit or cookie, it's an almond past, so it's like a mini tart almost.  Definitely worth getting.  The upper left corner, there's a tea tag shaped cookie, which is Earl Gray with lavender, you couldn't pick out the Earl Gray as much as you get the lavender taste brought out.  Not over empowering, but you can tell it's there.  Next to it, it's an ice cream scoop size cookie, it has strawberry and blueberry mix in there.

Overall, the popup concept is good.  I like it's theme and it's kitchy.  I'd say this pop up is a hit.  I will say there are bits and pieces that could be better.  Better promo cross partners and better arrangements would've made this even better.  That said, the food was good.  It's different, not something you see every day.  Then again, so was Alice in Wonderland.
