My mom had to get some goodies for work, and she picked up some macs for me. They cost $1, and it's from Moeller's Bakery which has a long history in Houston. So, here we have (from left) Almond, (back) Pistachio, Strawberry, Lemon, and Chocolate. The pied were good, and the shells stands well. For the Strawberry ones they put some flavor in the batter, so you can taste it more on the shell instead of the filling.
Overall, the macs aren't super spectacular, but not horrible. Better than some, but not the most memorable. For $1 and its decent size, it'll do the trick in a pinch. I'd go for Moeller's other goodies, such as cakes and eclairs.
