Home Plate Bar & Grill

With the Astros going strong, got a chance to go to a game.
But pre-game, we went to Home Plate to grab a cold one.
I love that 8th Wonder does a retro design that pay homage to the old Astrodome.  Dome Faux'm (foam) is actually a very light beer.  The story goes that this is a creamy ale that originated in Houston.  I will agree with them that this is a light and crisp beer which goes down easy.
So, of course, I go for junk food for the game day.  We shared the Humongous Sampler, which came with mozzarella cheese sticks, chicken strips, jalapeƱo poppers, fried burrito, and fries.  So, it's basically fried, fried and more fried.  I liked the cheese sticks and the burrito.  There were actually a lot of filling inside the burrito.  This is really meant to be shared, that way you still have room for any food inside the ballpark.

They have patio seating, upstairs seatings in addition to the main area seatings.  Don't be shy, their staff are prepared for you to grab them and put your order in that way.  If you have a big party, I would suggest going upstairs and get a decent size table that can fit everyone.
