Benjy's Washington

For a friend's birthday dinner, the birthday girl requested to go to Benjy's on Washington.
In case you don't know, they do have a separate Gluten Free menu, just ask the hostess or your server when you sit down.

We ordered some grilled brussels sprouts.  Aside from Uchi, I haven't had some awesome brussels sprouts for a while...  Not bitter, has a great grilled taste.
I went off the menu and had the special, which was Veal Chop with mashed potato mixed in with feta cheese.  It's nice and balanced and not too overwhelmed by the cheese.  As a matter of fact, I think it added texture to the potato.  It also have a small bed of veggie underneath the chop.  It's nice a thick and for sure has a hearty portion.

If you ever go there, you will find the similar thing like we did... the parking lot is filled, cars are waiting for valet.  But when you walk into the dining area, it's all emptied.  That's because everybody went to the upstairs bar and the patio for happy hour.  It was so packed there's hardly anywhere to stand.

When you get down to the dining area, you find that everything is more calm and more relaxed.  Our server was awesome, great sense of humor for a big group like ours was a nice add to the atmosphere.   Call ahead even just for dinner, but for groups the max they accommodate is 14, any larger that became a private dining menu and price.
