So, before Carl (Mastermind behind Houston Sushi Club) led the group to Japan for their annual trip. We had one more sushi club event before their send off. We went to Osaka on Montrose. This happens to be the 282th club event, that's alot of sushi!
Honestly, that is really Osaka #1 to the workers there. #2 would be the location on Holcomb & Stella Link. But this is a special arrangement with the Sushi Club, so we get some special 'off the menu' yummy goodness.
As usual, you get the complimentary appetizer of seafood tempura. You get this when you sit down and order food. It's on the house most of the time I go there.
Appetizer #2: Wasabi Shu Mai. The skin of the shu mai is dough mixed in with wasabi, so you do have a kick to it when you eat it. And it has pork as the filling. But your sinus are surprised by the time you eat this that you don't really noticed what's inside.
Then comes our entree: as you can see, we had sushi template here. We had Tuna, White fish, Salmon, Yellowtail, Shrimp, Eel, spicy salmon roll, and a crab/avocado roll topped with tuna and drizzled wasabi mayo
Then, this is the makimono combo. Which had Spider roll, Shrimp tempura roll, Asparagus Handroll, and a veggie roll. Trust me, by the time the makimono came out, we were so stuffed that barely touched it. I did eat one of each just to have a taste, but we were stuffed with rice.
For dessert, we got their green tea ice cream, which I was disappointed that we didn't get their tempura banana with honey on top. That was the best part.
As the Sushi Club tours Japan, you can see their travel on Facebook. They've been posting pics of the places they went and the sushi they had. Go check that out!
